1st Birthday Par-tay!

For Logan's 1st Birthday we threw him an Elmo Birthday Bash. Chris said it best "It is the greatest party he will never remember." Our little boy only turns 1 once, I just had to throw him a proper shindig!

The party started out with a yummy soup bar. We had Broccoli Cheese, Tomato Bisque, Chicken Noodle, and Potato Bacon with rolls to dip. You just had to try a little of all the soups. It was a delicious start to the festivities. We ate and mingled. Logan just stared and wondered how Grandma and Grandpa Suchan and Grandma and Grandpa Decker ended up in the same room. So confusing!

After lunch was done we played a game. I had pictures of 10 of Elmo's friends on the wall and everyone had to guess their names and write them on a piece of paper. This was unbelievably entertaining. There are a lot of new friends since I was a kid. I know them now, I watch them everyday!

After the game was over we gathered in the front room and opened some awesome and very thoughtful presents. We have a wonderful group of family members and friends.

After we opened Logan's presents we had some Elmo cupcakes. He was so confused at why we put some sugar bread in front of him with no fork or regulation. It was great.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN!

ONE YEAR AGO
Logan Christopher Suchan was born January 21st, 2010 at 7:58pm. He weighed in at 8 lbs 8 oz and has brought joy to our hearts and home since we found out we were expecting. It is crazy how life has changed since a blue eyed, giggly little boy has joined our family.

I will never forget the day he was born. After being on bed rest for a week and a half for high blood pressure(so frustrating!) Doctor Kinghorn told us it was time to have our little boy! I was so excited, nervous, and ready to get him here. We left our apt at 6:20am so we could be to the hospital by 7:00am.

This is what I looked like a year ago!

Shortly after arriving I was put on Pitocin to get things going. While we waited for the big arrival we watched movies, played games, and talked about getting our little man here. After the doctor came, checked me and broke my water there was not much watching, playing or talking. I got the epidural shortly after that! Ha! After 11 hours of being on Pit, little progress, and counsel from our doctor we made the decision to have a c-section. The doctors and nurses were amazing. They were so kind, skilled, and fast! We made the decision at 7:00pm and Logan was here just 58 minutes later. I will never forget the sound of Logan's first cry, so sweet. All I could do was cry. The doctor that came around and showed Logan to me for the first time was so small. Logan looked HUGE! Logan was whisked away and weighed, wiped off, and then wrapped up and handed to his daddy. While the doctors were finishing my handsome boys sat with me. I just couldn't stop looking our at new little blessing. We went from a family of 2 to a family of 3, I was a mom!

The next 2 hours were a blur of nurses, shivering, family and emotion. Both grandparents came to see the newest addition to our family that night along with the Olsen's and the Hansen's.

The nurse took Chris upstairs to the nursery to give Logan his first bath. He still loves to get his head scrubbed.

At midnight that night we were all finally in our room safe and sound. Our little Logan was finally here! January 21st was the day we became parents and a day we will never forget. We love our Logan!

ONE YEAR OLD
The last year Logan has grown like a weed and learned so much. Here are a few pictures of his 1st Birthday!

We had Logan's favorite for dinner-Fajitas. He finally tipped his sippy cup all the way up so he could drink his milk. Chris mimicked him and he thought it was SO FUNNY! He just laughed and laughed.

It has only been a year and Logan has learned so much. He has gone from no control over his hands and feet to high 5's and walking. From only crying and involuntary "oooo's" to saying "mamamama" and "daddy?" From a little baby to a big boy toddler. We sure love our little guy and are so grateful he is in our lives!

So Long 2010, Hello 2011!

This year we had a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year with the Suchan family! We went up for the whole New Year weekend and partied until it was 2011! Because this was the Suchan "in-law" year for Christmas, we celebrated both holiday's in one weekend. It was a full and very fun time.

The awesome Olsen family-Andrea, Davian, Greg, and Kezia! Notice the fancy matching UofU pants Andrea made. Greg started pharmacy school this year at the U. Great way to remember the year within one of my favorite Christmas traditions!

Logan had so much fun ripping the papers and finding toys under them. He was spoiled rotten of course. We all were! Thanks everyone for the wonderful and thoughtful presents! I may or may not have cried when I opened one of mine:)

Logan sure loves his daddy. He wants to be just like him. I don't blame him! Here he is trying to play XBox. Logan didn't know the control was off and he's actually suppose to turn the control the other way:)

We had so much fun spending time with our family. We ate some amazingly delicious food, played games, and had a blast. We had a few moments that were not so fun... Logan and I were sick pretty much the whole weekend. We had some kind of cold/flu/fun sucking illness that made us unable to sleep. I was so glad we had the fam to help take care of the munchkin. Because of this unfortunate situation and the affect it had on my brain I neglected to take pictures of New Years Eve. Oops! We all rang in the New Year together with Sparkling Cider and of course Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve! 2010 was the year Chris and I became parents. I will never forget that night! Logan has been one of the greatest blessings in our lives. He has taught us things no one else could and brought us joy that we have never known. 2010 has been good to us.

We look forward to the adventures that await us in 2011!

DeCkEr ChRiStMaS!

This year we spent Christmas with the Decker's. We are so blessed to have family that we also consider our friends. We had a blast. On Christmas Eve we had a delicious feast of ham, funeral potatoes, delicious salads, and of course Christmas Jello (takes a lot of time but totally worth it!) After dinner we visited and opened our Christmas P.J.'s, one of my favorite traditions. Of course we want to look good for Santa! Logan got an special Christmas Eve present from Aunt Shalynn. This picture says it all...

He LOVES ELMO! He loves his Aunt Shalynn more! Logan went to bed and had dreams of sugar plum fairies while the grown ups played Catch Phrase. We got it for mom and dad as part of their Christmas gift. What a hoot!

This was our first Christmas Eve as parents. Now I understand why mom and dad were so tired on Christmas morning! Santa came and spoiled us rotten. Watching Logan's eyes light up as he finally got to open those paper things that were under the tree for forever was priceless! He opened the Fisher-Price tool bench we got him first and didn't want to do much else but play with it. We put another present in front of him and he kept his eyes on the prize, he wanted his tool bench back! Santa also brought him a set of Megabloks that he is getting really good at stacking. This is his first attempt at them, not as successful. Practice makes perfect.

I have the sweetest husband in the whole world. This Christmas we had a small budget and he made me feel like a million bucks! He gives the most amazing gifts. Along with his stunning smile and those perfect blue eyes he gave me some of the most thoughtful presents ever. He takes little hints to a whole new level. I love you baby!

We are a little of our Christmas cereal (mine was Cinnamon Life and Chris had Cocoa Krispies), got ready, and headed over to mom and dad Decker's for Christmas Waffles, bacon, and eggs. Delicious! At 2:00pm we met some other family at Aunt Joyces for our traditional Christmas Brunch. We sure have a special place in our hearts for Joyce. We just love her! The rest of the day, take a look...

Wii BOWLING TOURNAMENT!

Shalynn has the best Wii bowling pose of all time. This does not do it justice. Everyone played. Mom and Dad did amazing for their first time. Mom got like 5 strikes in a row one game! I am proud to report that I went to the final round of the tournament. I lost big time to Stevie. What am I suppose to do when he gets 7 strikes in a row?!? It was a valiant effort if I do say so myself. I especially liked my karate chop move. HA!

Face masks! No I don't remember why or when we started this but I do love it.

ChRiStMaS SuNdAy

Corinne, Brady and Dean were in Ferron for Christmas this year. They came on Sunday and stayed for a few days. We went over and had dinner, exchanged gifts, and played. We sure missed them!

We also got to see (and meet for Chris and Biege) a few people in our family we have not see in years. Morris (Dad's Brother), Cindy and Kyle came for Christmas. Morris and Cindy's Daughter Robyn and her husband Darrel and 4 girls came to Utah to visit family for Christmas too. We enjoyed spending the holiday with them and catching up a little bit.

Temple Square at Christmas Time

Growing up in Utah one of the highlights of Holiday Season is going to Temple Square to see all of the amazing Christmas lights and displays. This year we went down twice! 1st to see Kim perform with the Bear River Madrigals and 2nd to see dad in the MoTab Christmas Concert. It was wonderful to spend time with family and listen to some beautiful Christmas music. Both performances helped us get in the Christmas Spirit.

Home for the Holidays

Growing up one of my favorite things to do during Christmas time was to get a cup of hot chocolate, a warm blanket, and plop myself on the couch in my parents front room and just look at all the Christmas decorations. My mom has done an amazing job of transforming their home into a Christmas wonderland. My brother always says a picture of the front room should be in a magazine. I must agree, it is just magical!

I don't have all the decor my mama does, but we are working on it. Since our first Christmas together Chris and I have tried to get something new to decorate our home for Christmas each year. This year we got a few new somethings. Here are a few highlights of how our little apartment looked this holiday season. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

A Decker/Danish Christmas tradition. Everyday we light the candle and blow it out once the number of the day is gone. When the candle is gone Christmas is here! We loved to light the candle growing up.

Christmas Tree, OH Christmas Tree!

It is now time to take our Christmas decor down. I don't "...cry the day that I take the tree down..." but I agree with the Forgotten Carols song that says "...I want this Season to last all year round." I love spirit of giving, the time with family, and that our thoughts are turned toward Savior and His birth. What a wonderful time of year!
