Logan is 3 years old! What?

Last month we celebrated Logan's 3rd birthday. I cannot believe it has been 3 years since that little man joined our family.

1 day old.

Logan has done a lot of learning and growing this past year. He is now 37 inches tall and 35 1/2 pounds. 

Logan is so IMAGINATIVE. He loves pretending he is a superhero. He puts on his super cape and runs around and around the main floor with it flowing behind him. His favorite is the Hulk. When he turns into Hulk he makes a high pitch sound and then says "Hulk Smash!"

Logan is a GEEK. He loves anything that involves technology. He would play on the computer/ipad/smartphone all day if we let him. His favorite is "Chickens"...Angry Birds :) He is also a huge fan of his Aunt Shalynn!

Logan loves to COOK! If I am cooking he is right there watching and helping. His favorite things to eat/make are waffles and banana bread. I think he has the same taste buds as Chris.

Logan is our little ATHLETE! If it involves a ball he is game.

Logan is a great BIG BROTHER! He has a special place in his heart for his little sister Paigie. When he says her name he sounds french, "Paijsh." He loves to snuggle her, read her books and "share" toys with her. They are going to be the best of friends and know just how to make the other crazy.

Logan is a SMARTY PANTS! He loves to learn. Puzzles, books, numbers, letter, shapes...if it keeps his busy mind moving it is good.

Logan loves to play OUTSIDE! Recently he has spent a lot of time outside helping daddy shovel snow! He enjoys playing sports, going down the slide at the park and throwing rocks= such a boy. In the picture above we made a Mickey snowman. This kid loves him some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He can sing the theme song word for word.

Logan is FUN LOVING! This is a picture of Logan sliding down the slip and slide at Aunt Melani and Uncle James' house. This boy just likes to have fun. He has always liked to be thrown around and tackled. Can't wait to take him on roller coasters!

Paige is 8 months old!

Paige is a sweet, spunky, fun little lady with a personality all her own. Each month it amazes me how much she learns, changes and grows. Sometimes I wish she would just slow down! My goodness we love this little girl.

 Miss Paige LOVES her big brother! As soon as Logan comes in the room she lights up. She does not just eat books but has started to look at the pictures too. We read to her before naps and bedtime and she loves them. She just sits, snuggles and listens. (If there is no book there is no snuggle!) 

 Messy face! I put the spoon in and she spit it right out. 

For whatever reason Paige has developed a severe hatred for all solid foods. It does not matter if it is cereal, fruit, veggie or meat. She hates and spits everything out. It is like I am torturing her. Totally don't get it. I am positive anything food tastes better than formula.!

She loves to play!

Paige is now an expert sitter. She is getting so comfortable with it she has started leaning every which way reaching for toys and is doing the pre-crawl rocking up on her knees. Today she started army backward scooting. AAHHH!!! She will be crawling all over before Santa comes to town.

• Loves to pull hair!
• Says "OOoooo" when she finds something that is new and awesome. Does that count as a first word?
• Always has her tongue out.
• LOVES to take baths and splash everywhere!
• Clenches her fist, bites her gums together and shakes with rage and occasionally turns red when she gets mad...yes I am serious.
• Has a smile that can brighten anyone's day.

We love visitors!

One of the greatest things about moving to Wyoming has been all of our visitors! We live in one of the most beautiful valleys in the world and we love when our family and friends come up and help us explore it.

 Andrea, Greg, Kezia, Davian and Max came to visit in August. We had a blast at Afton Elementary up the street trying to figure out what all the different play ground equipment did. This is a picture of Duke, Logan and Kez being spun around and around by Greg on one of the most awesome playground toys ever. Not sure what it was called or why they didn't have these when I was in school but they LOVED it!

 We started September off right with a visit from our friends the Ringles. Sadie and Eli play so well with Logan and Paige and we love hanging out with Jim and Anne! We had heard about this great place in Thayne called Tootsies. We headed up there for dinner and man it was good! Totally lived up to the locals glowing recommendations. SO so yummy! This is a picture of the Ringle fam after dinner.  

 Grandma and Grandpa Decker came to visit at the end of September. What a treat! We went on a hike, played lots of football, and witnessed the animal whisperer at her finest. We had horses in the pasture behind us and mom could say one word and they came running. Animals (and people) love her! In this picture Paige is eating some of moms yarn. She was knitting us some washcloths and got a hold of the end. It became her favorite toy. So great to have them here. 

 Our special visitors for Conference weekend were Grandma and Grandpa Stallings! These two amazing people have the gift of making everyone around them feel so loved and important. Paige sure has a special place in her heart for Grandpa. Anytime we sat her anywhere close to Grandpa she had an instant smile on her face. Mr. Logan didn't let Grandma out of his sight for a second. He took her by the hand and led her away to play cars, Hungry Hungry Hippos, etc. In this picture we are at a local joint called Rocky Mountain Seafood. Now we know where to go to get our fish!

This is Uncle Biege and Aunt Shalynn and spoilin is their game! Our kids are in heaven every time these two come around! They always come with hugs, endless energy, "Chickens" and tricks up their sleeves. Thank you so much for the toys! I am happy to say that while they were here Shalynn and I experienced our first Lincoln County craft fair together. It was a success. The highlight for me were definitely the lasso wreaths. Should have bought one! :)

Our Backyard!

We have a backyard! I know... it is so wonderful! Ever since our cute little Logan was able to walk we wanted a backyard for him to play in. Now we have got one! Our little athlete loves it, and Paige is a fantastic cheerleader/sunbather:) Our Wyoming backyard is a little different than the ones we grew up with in UT and ID...

Deer, horses and the occasional cat are all things we enjoy looking at while we eat at our dining room table. There is a pasture that is right outside our back door. Pretty fun! This city girl is learning a lot about animals. For instance, did you know that during a thunderstorm horses stand perfectly still? It might not be true for all horses but the 4 in the pasture behind us didn't move the whole time I was doing the dishes during a thunderstorm. They were like unto statues. We also have a few other things in our backyard...

10 months and LOTS has happened in our Suchan world. I will stick to the 2 biggest...

Paige

Miss Paige Elizabeth Suchan joined our family on February 28th, 2012 at 12:47pm. She was 18 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. We are so thankful that Heavenly Father has sent her to our home. She is a beautiful, sweet & spunky little lady that we can't get enough of.

Since the day she was born our sweet Paige has slept with her hands above her head. We now know if her hands are up she is out for the long haul. It is so fun learning about her and getting to know her. When we brought her home we had to learn to sleep with the monitor volume down really low. All night we would hear, "Hmmm. Hmm. Hmmmmm. Hmm." Our baby girl hummed herself to sleep. It was so funny because if she was making noise we knew she was asleep and if she was quiet we knew she was waking up. 

Logan is such a good big brother. In this picture Paige is just 6 days old. He loves to hold her, give her kisses and says "Hi, hi hi hi hihihihihi!" over and over again. He talks baby talk to her which I think is adorable. They are going to be best friends. 

When Paige was born she had newborn peach fuzz all over her cute little head. The one exception to that was on the crown of her head, she had a little patch of beautiful brown hair. It was about an inch long and would stick straight up! So cute. I called it her Alfalfa (from Little Rascals.) After having a blonde little man we sure didn't think we would be getting a brunette. Daddy is still holding out for a red head some day.

Miss Paige is now 6 months old. I have no idea where the time has gone. She has a smile that can light up the darkest room and has the cutest giggle. She can sit up by herself, eats baby food really well and rolls around all over the floor. Her new favorite thing is having conversations with anyone and everyone that will listen. She is a chatter box. When she wakes up from naps she does not cry she just starts talking. I wonder what she would be saying if I spoke her language:)

Chris got a new job...in Afton, WYOMING!

Chris has a talent, passion and degree in Human Resources. In December of 2008 we graduated from USU and started hunting for an HR job. With the economy crash it seemed the hunt would never end. Chris was competing for entry level HR jobs with people that had a decade of experience. Needless to say it was not very fruitful. The hunt continued for 3 years and then... a perfect fit. At the beginning of July Chris got an interview with JR Simplot at the Smoky Canyon Mine in Afton, Wyoming. 5 weeks later he started the job he had been dreaming about:) It was quick and meant to be. We are so grateful for the opportunity and man is this valley beautiful! The picture above is the sunset we get to see every night from our backyard. We are adjusting to the remoteness of our LITTLE town but we are determined to be blissfully happy here- even with the 4 feet of snow come winter!

We are excited for our new adventure in Wyoming and are so thankful for the experiences we had in Utah. Here we go!

Picking the perfect "Poo-koo"

The Monday before Halloween our little family has the tradition of going to the pumpkin patch and picking a perfect pumpkin to carve for FHE. This year was especially fun because our little man loves "Poo-koo's!" Yes, that is what he calls pumpkins, "Poo-koo's." There was a cardboard pumpkin hanging on one of our neighbors doors and every time we passed by Logan would say "Poo-koo!" Eventually I figured out what he was saying! So cute! Grandma and Grandpa Decker joined us for our Pumpkin FHE. I think Logan learned what a pumpkin was from grandma. She has lots of pretty fall decor at her house.

Our finished pumpkin, Jack. Logan said "Hi" to him every morning and "Bye" to him every night. Man we have a cute kid! Gotta love traditions. Kids make them just a little more fun.

Catching up on Summer-Suchan Family Reunion

Suchan Reunion 2011 was in Bend, Oregon the first week in August. This reunion not only included our Suchan family but all of the George Suchan siblings and their families. We found out about this reunion the summer of 2010 and had been looking forward to it ever since. I had never been to an official Suchan Reunion and just could not help but be excited. They are a unique group of characters that you can't help but love the heck out of.

The Reunion started with a very early morning and a long car ride to Oregon. Amazingly enough Logan did fantastic on the 12ish hour drive to the Beaver State. I attribute most of the success to Kim and her superb entertaining skills. She is such an awesome aunt and we were so happy to have her in our car!

Due to our 5am departure we got to our condo in Oregon a little after 4:00pm. We unloaded and started the FUN. That is the perfect word to describe our week there...so MuCh FUN! While we were there we played lots and lots of tennis. I was pretty much in heaven. We played doubles, singles and a game called King/Queen of the court that really gets your heart pumping. It is the best. The Resort also had racquetball, swimming, a splash pad, horseshoes, swings, golf, bikes, rafting...the list goes on. We could not do it all but we sure tried!

Logan was a little freaked out by all the water shooting up from the ground. He went once with daddy and was done. He was happy playing in the wading pool or watching and laughing at Kez.

When we were not outside playing it was great to stay in the condo and relax. Our place had an enclosed deck that was perfect for the kids. Kez, Logan and Davian spent hours out there throwing balls, running back and forth, poking sticks between the cracks and exploring. Davian's particular favorite was going up the the window by the kitchen, squishing his face on it and swishing his tongue back and forth. So funny. It was a wonderful place to visit and look at the nature/golf course that were just gorgeous.

During our relaxing time inside we also ate lots of amazing food, played games, and watched a couple movies. We planned to watch Avatar almost every night but we always ended up talking until our eyelids felt like they weighed a ton and then went to bed. The kids were still on Mountain Time so we had early mornings and late nights. You can't expect much more than that on vacation.

Every night during the Reunion we got together with the big Suchan group for dinner. We have got some talented Suchan cooks! We enjoyed the yummy food and catching up with everyone. Thursday afternoon we spent together at the resorts outdoor pavilion. Everyone came and enjoyed the company, some friendly Suchan volleyball and some delicious BBQ. Yummy!

Since the beginning of my membership in the Suchan family I have heard about and experienced the Suchan's love of Rook. I was warned of the seriousness in which it is played and was terrified to play with any members of family for the longest time! Turns out it is not so bad. I am happy to report that there was a Suchan Rook Tournament during the reunion. I am not sure who won but it brought my little heart so much joy. I am sad to report there was no throwing of cards (that I saw) or major points lost because someone had to be a stickler on rules.

We had such a fantastic week with the family and are so grateful for the support and love we receive from them. The location was fantastic and the company even better.

I went from having a last name that everyone could pronounce to a last name that puzzles the majority. I love my last name and thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the man who married me and made me a Suchan. It was a fantastic week and one that we will always remember! We could have not been there without Mom and Dad. Thank you so much! SUCHAN'S ROCK!
